the people answering are mostly the same, so double posting will not get You more answers

anyway the cbt tape at http://www.cbttape.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has quite a few examples of GQSCAN usage
GQSCAN was found 789 times in 92 files
( in the cbt sources I downloaded, since they are not the latest ones, there might be more occurrences )

enrico,

It wasn't intended to be a double post. I posted in here initially and then read the heading "A Help & Support Forum for Mainframe Beginners and Students". So I then reinstated (with dick's help) my id on the other site. I then posted there. My apologies, but I did include other information on that other post.

However, to get back to the original question (and now that I am limited to the beginners section), the 789 examples on the cbttape and all the others that I've found (as well as the manuals, etc) only go as far as to indicate that SCOPE=ALL should allow GQSCAN to search across LPARs. It does not on our site. So, I am guessing that the inplementation of CA-MIM may require that GQSCAN is limited on the systems that MIM is running on (for what reason I cannot fathom). But a look in the manuals for MIM does not indicate this one way or the other.
Regards,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

It looks like you are still good to go on the other forum.

Let us know if there are any problems there.

Thanks, Dick.

I might try steve-myers solution for this problem. Although agricultural, it would work - I'd just have to collect the results from a few different jobs. Or, I might just give up on collecting the information via a WHOHAS program, and just attempt to assign it - if that fails I just don't attempt to modify it (as obviously someone is using it).

WRT the other site, I can post successfully, so that's no problem. I just don't have another query at present.
Regards,
Jonathan
