Thanks for your reply. Since I know so little of mainframes and I read this forum for the pleasure of learning, as a hobby, it is probably better for the sake of those who post questions (and seek help), that indeed I just keep reading for the moment.

if You are interested in REXX I suggest to download and install on Your PC object REXX
http://sourceforge.net/projects/oorexx/

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort
