Thank you everyone for your suggestions. After giving the problem some more thought I decided to make the fileA search records members in a pds and then used LMM services to compare fileA to fileB - that worked fine since LMM allowed the pds to be searched multiple times.

I am curious. How long does it take to run? I had thought it would be many minutes to read the files so many times.
