z/os CICS to P-series Oracle database

Postby chinatrain99 » Mon Aug 28, 2017 8:43 pm

I didn't see a particularly good place to post this so I posted this here. We have CICS applications that access Oracle via an Oracle supplied proc called TNSPROC (program TNSMAIN). We are way behind and at version 8. Due to a lot of reasons we will not be upgrading either. When TNSPROC loses connection to a database or if you were to try to bounce TNSPROC, it takes an IPL to get it working again. I'm paying for the sins of my forefathers.

So, has anyone figured out a way to get past the IPL or is there something else that we can do to connect our CICS programs to P-Series Oracle databases?

Thanks,

Jeff
