copying members from pds to pds.mem in ps file

Postby srikkanth.lovable » Thu Mar 31, 2011 8:33 pm

Friends,

Iam intrested to write a JCL to copy PDS Members to another NEW PDS,where the names of the members should be picked from ps file.

For Eg:

SOURCE.PDS------->Selected members copied to ------------->TARGET.PDS ( NEW)
( List existing in an PS file )

It would be great if JCL is provided.

so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort

Read the discussion of the IEBCOPY and IEHMOVE utilities in this manual. I think either utility will do what you want.

In addition, you might investigate the ISPF copy function. In most ISPF implementations select option 3, Utiliies in the ISPF Primary Option Menu and press Enter, then select option 3, Move/Copy in the Utility Selection Panel and press Enter.

As for writing JCL for you, many people here will be eager to accept consulting assignments providing an appropriate fee is paid.
