Merge posts?

Postby William Thompson » Fri Oct 26, 2007 4:11 pm

This should probably be in a moderators only forum, but....

The topic merge is nice, but a little confusing, the only way I seem to get it to work is to manually plug in the topic number...
After many attempts at selecting and marking, the topic number in the box seem to be the only way....

Grumble, grumble, I'll keep practicing.....grin......

Yes, there is bug and we are working on that.

Have you seen an option as [SELECT FOR MERGE] in mod control panel which works fine. (I merged my previous post using that).

I don't recall seeing the [Select for Merge] last time, just the "Mark" boxes....
Seems good to go....
What's the difference between merge topics and merge posts?

Merge Topics: You can merge all the posts of one or more topics together

Merge Posts: You can merge one or more POSTS of a topic to another Topic

And note you cannot merge your Post with my post. (That means you can't merge the posts within the Topic)

Yes, you can enter the topic number to merge, but alternatively you can select the topic also. Can't you see any 'SELECT TOPIC' option?

Pardon my "stupid", but when (as I recall) I am in "merging post", the "marking" of the post dos nothing, it's like I need to activate it somehow, and I have yet to figure what the "hot key" is....
Never-the-less, merge topics works and that is where I need to go to do what I need to do.....

Hello,

Back in the initial post for this topic, there was mention of a "Moderators only" place in this forum. Will there be one?

So far, i've not been able to find a "Manuals" link here - will there be one?

Thanks,

d

Good point, I'm assuming that it will occur as the site matures.....

That too should present itself.....
