Testing

Re: Testing

a reply to check out preview. . .

Are you sure? Is it happening now?

Yup - now the "flash" in almost instantaneous - i can almost see the preview panel, but the reply panel is returned very quickly.

What might be configured here that could cause this? I don't believe it is something local here, but i'd not rule that out.
Hope this helps,

FWIW, I see the preview quite clearly.....
After preview....
The window is at the top of the screen and works with both "post reply" and "quote".
There is a "flash", but it seems to be working....
IE 7.0.5730.11 FWIW....
I've noticed that sometimes when I go to the last post on a thread, I don't get positioned at the last post but at the very bottom ot the page, dumb question Dick, but could your browser be posisioning itself too low?

If you wait for a bit, does the preview get replaced by the reply panel? That's what happened before today when it became an unreadable preview flash (i can see it, but it goes away before it could even be glanced at). I'll check when i get back to "my" machine tonight and see what that one does.

but could your browser be posisioning itself too low?

Now sure i'm in sync with this thought. 'Splain?
Hope this helps,

I didn't hang around very long, long enough for my intoxicated digits to find the letters, but at least 3 to 4 minutes....And, aside from texture and color, it looks and works just like the other....

If those fingers could spell right...
Have you ever gone to the last post on a thread (by clicking the little symbol next to the last posters name) and found your browser pointed to the absolute bottom of the page, and have to scroll up a bit to view the last post?
Just previewing this, there was a 5-10 second pause before the screen scrolled up a bit.....

some more testing. . . . ;)

interesting. . . the preview is now displayed AND the reply is visable at the same time - the flash and disappearing preview symptom is not happening (but i'm now on a different pc - still with IE 6.0.2900 SP2, but a very different Windows/ISP setup.

I'll try again when i'm back on the machine connected to a local lan.
Hope this helps,

It looks like you are under control, I may be stupid! But which AntiVirus/IS you have?

Hello,

Things seem to be working well on multiple machines today

But which AntiVirus/IS you have?

On this pc the AV is Network Associates - VirusScan. On one of the others it is Macafee. At least one has Symantec (Norton).

I connect via various isps as well. At this apt it is Charter Internet. Some of my sites are their own isp. I've not gone to wireless yet (and may not) - no real need so far.
Hope this helps,

Nice. So your IE may be weak. Can you try with another free browser like firebox?
