Hello,

In My System There is No such SORT Exist
You are saying that neither you nor anyone else has ever submitted a job with a sort step. . . :?

I find this unbelievable. . . :(

Someone at sometime has submitted jcl that includes a sort. . .

When you locate one of these, clone it and use it for this exercise. . . Remember - ANY existing sort jcl can be used for this process. There is NO "extra" jcl for substring.
Hope this helps,
d.sch.

Hello,

If you prefer, clone/copy the jcl, add the sort control provided earlier, and post as a reply for review here before running it on your system.
Hope this helps,

Everywhere has a sort job. And if you have Syncsort you have access to the manuals that give the syntax you ask for. The forum is not a manual reading service.
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.
