who has the dataset allocated ?

why Would You want to delete Your ispf profile ???

since nobody here knows anything about Your setup
the chances of getting help are pretty slim,

but why not ask Your trainer ?

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort

@enrico,
Pardon me for misspelled your name , i had corrected it in this post.
It was me who allocated the dataset.
I don't want to delete it, For my knowledge purpose I needed to know why that ISPF is not getting deleted.

? Then why do you keep saying that you cannot delete it? And why would you want to delete ISPF? I think you mean soemthing else. ISPF is a software product - it is all the panels you use and a lot of the progrtams behind them.

regards does not have an apostrophe. An apostrophe indicates a letter, or letters, missed out as in don't = do not, or ownership e.g. Dave's book.
Do not worry too much about this last - I may be doing similar to a moderator on another forum who keeps using 'loose' instead of 'lose'!
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.

@Nicc,
Thank you very much nicc , u had guided me in two ways , i wont repeat the apostrophe in my upcoming post.
Actually i don't want to delete ISPF , I want to delete the Dataset which had been created by me, I had created in the name of ISPF.ISPPROF. I just given records in the form of PS dataset but now it contains members in the form of PDS. I do no what happend with that.

Kind regards

Loosely, we can say that he's losing? :mrgreen:

ISPF.ISPPROF is part of your ISPF setup. You can probably delete it without too much harm but you cannot do it whilst you are in ISPF as it is used by ISPF. When you are logging off ISPF and enter X at the main menu do you return to native TSO (READY prompt) or do you get logged right out to some sort of initial login screen? If the latter then you cannot delete the file yourself as it is always allocated whilst you are logged on so you will have to get someone else to delete it for you - if they have the authority. If you get the READY prompt then you can issue the DELETE dataset command - not sure of the syntax but you could look for the TSO COMMANDS manual or, in ISPF option 6 issue "tso help delete" (without the quotes) to get the full syntax.
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.

Loosely, we can say that he's losing?

Easy aide-memoire for this - one 'o' in 'lost' one 'o' in 'lose'; two 'o's in 'loose' as when you need to go to the loo with loose bowel syndrome!
