Access to DB2 Z/os via DB2 win client

Postby p19689 » Thu Feb 24, 2011 3:28 pm

I'm trying to access DB2 Z/os via db2 win client and getting the following TCP/IP error. Is this due to restrictions on IP addreesses that are allowed to connect to mainframe or any other issue. Generally I would like to understand how Mainframe controls which IP addresses allowed directly to access to Mainframe(DB2).

SQL30081N A communication error has been detected. Communication protocol
being used: "TCP/IP". Communication API being used: "SOCKETS". Location
where the error was detected: "Target IP address". Communication function detecting the error: "connect".
Protocol specific error code(s): "10060", "*", "*".SQLSTATE= 08001

The mainframe does not control access to its IP address. The network routers control access to IP addresses. You need to talk to your site support group and have them check the network to verify your access is allowed.
