Nope, not there for us. The manual you linked to says it's new to that release. We have ISPF 6.1.0 according to TASID. (z/OS 01.11.00)

So I don't know if they are still running an old ISPF, or if the TASID is reporting from the wrong field, or if I'm just reading it wrong.

This is what I see in the ISPF index:
S67 - SWAP command
S68 - SWITCH command
S69 - SYSNAME command

find hard to run an older ISPF, it come packaged with zOS
and since for zOS 1.10 ispf was/is 6.0 I guess that You are at a level
higher than that of the manual I pointed You to ( zOS 1.10 )

for zos 1.11 the page looks a bit different, see
http://publibz.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/ ... T#FIRSTHIT

the command definitely works ( at the 6.0 zOS 1.10 )
just the help index is not up to the docs

see

 TUTORIAL ----------------------  INDEX - 'S'  ------------------------ TUTORIAL

To select a topic, enter code (letter and number) in the option field:

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort

S65 - SuperC - Profiles, using
S66 - SuperC - Report format
S67 - SWAP command
S68 - SWITCH command
S69 - SYSNAME command

I tried S67... no SWAPBAR there, but then I pressed the NxtPage key... and it was there! though, I think that page is not associated with S67. I am on a higher z/OS level.

but why not simply try it ?
enrico..you wound me sir! Of course I tried it!

reformatted a bit to get in in three lines, but the error message is:
Menu RefList RefMode Utilities Workstation Help

                      Edit Entry Panel            Invalid command
 Command ===> SWAPBAR

I did follow the index as shown above and sure enough, the swapbar command is there if you go through the SWAP tutorial and press enter to get that secondary list.

I'm wondering if the terminal settings make a difference, like command line position and terminal type/width.

Perhaps your system-wide ISPF command table is somehow out-of-date**. Try adding a command to your user commands table:
Verb      T  Action
SWAPBAR   0  SELECT PGM(ISPTL) PARM(&ZPARM)

** you might have wounded yourself.

Yep. VERY old command table, with products we haven't had for almost a decade. Good call.

I will ask our system folks to check about updating it. In the mean time, I'll get a user one up and running.
